I am a Postdoctoral researcher in the Vinberg lab, at the University of Utah, using mouse and human retina to understand vision.

I am interested in how early retinal degeneration, where photoreceptors begin to exhibit signs of stress but have not yet died, influences the process of remodeling in the retinal circuits. My primary aim is to use multielectrode array recordings to identify specific differences in the function of Retinal Ganglion Cells - the output neurons of the retina. Understanding how retinal degeneration alters the processing of information within the retina is crucial for future treatments that involve either implanting new neurons into the retina or even synthetic retinal prostheses.
